RIDE SUMMARY

For some, Sir Francis Drake is just another congested boulevard but that only lasts for the first 5-7 miles leading away from the US-101.

Further along it sheds itself from being the congested boulevard to quickly becoming a scenic open countryside cruise. The road winds through open dairy lands, lush hillsides and mature redwoods.

Another joy of riding Sir Francis Drake Blvd., are the series of small towns that you pass on your way out to the coast. Any of these unique towns make for a  perfect for a rest stop.

Overall the road is well maintained and well signed. Keep in mind tourists often travel this road and those getting away to the beach.
