Looking for a nice road to enjoy the beauty of Napa without the twisty roads? Silverado Trail aka “the road less traveled” was the first permanent road built from Napa to Calistoga that provided a major trade route for hauling wheat, and fruit, the primary crops, as well as travelers. Today, this 22.3 mile county road is a local favorite.
Known for its long stretches and soft turns this is a tranquil ride that takes you alongside beautiful vineyards, and underneath tree limbs that canopy the road.
This area is ripe with Wineries so commercial trucks and tourists are often merging from driveways or from the shoulder of the road. As you travel along Silverado Trails there are several uncontrolled intersections, so be on guard for pedestrians and vehicles crossing your lane.
Depending on the season, this road can provide moderate to heavy winds. The heavy commercial trucks that travel this road produce a strong wind gusts.
