The true character of this highway comes from its overshadowed mature Redwoods, rustic river cabins and the friendly folks who live in the town of Cazadero. As for the road itself, it holds the same cautions as any other road in the Russian River area.
Fallen tree debris, dirt from driveways leading on to the road, and occasionally, uneven road surfaces that you can usually navigate around.
The traffic depends on the day you travel. Though, you can expect it to be light during the weekdays and moderate on weekends that bring nice weather.
There are homes along most of this route so be aware of cars pulling out of driveways and children at play.
