RIDE SUMMARY

This ride started North of Cloverdale, just off US-101, on Geyser Road. A road that has almost as many road condition changes as it does spectacular views. The ride starts out on a smooth two lane road that weaves along the Big Sulphur River onward and upward through the Mayacama mountains. This can be quite a trek while riding a bicycle.

The first half of the ride includes uneven, narrow road conditions that will keep you moving slower. Once you reach the geysers, the road and the surface conditions improve significantly. If you enjoy taking scenic rides, Geysers Road should be on your list.

Due to road conditions, your speed will vary. There are small patches of unpaved road along the route. Fallen hillside debris may also be present.

Traffic is extremely light on this road but utility vehicles from the geyser power plant and local residents from around the area use the road. Your ability to see oncoming vehicles will be limited at times.

Most bicyclists tend to ride more frequently on the Southern side of this ride closer towards Healdsburg. Cell phone reception is very limited.
